FAQ

Quick answers to the questions we hear most. Can't find yours? Ask the Portfolio Analytics Team.

What is TFP Analytics On Demand?

TFP Analytics On Demand is a platform that provides access to live or signed-off analytics to use in Excel, Power BI, or any other tool you like.

The data has been designed by those closest to the business, with the aim of providing a single source of truth applied in a consistent way.

Why should I use it?

Ask yourself:

  • Want to get access to data for your class to build your own dashboards, reports or analytics?
  • Need the latest available data — or data that's been approved by the business for reporting?
  • Happy to use your own data, but want to be sure it's accurate and consistent with the rest of the business?
  • Would you rather have data on demand than wait for someone else to build it for you?

If any of those ring true, this platform is for you. It provides live or signed-off analytics where the calculations have been approved, and the data is there when you want it.

What's the difference between Live and Approved?

This is the one to get right — especially for anything external.

Live

Updated daily from the previous night's snapshot of Prequel. This data is not signed off and should not be used for external reporting. Day-to-day differences come from data entry into Prequel and will not be explained by the analytics team.

Approved

Signed off from the month-end snapshot of Prequel. It stays consistent throughout the month and can be used for external reporting. Once the month-end snapshot is available, the analytics team creates the data and provides reconciliations and explanations for any differences between month-end dates.

What's the difference between TFPP Premium and Normal Premium?

The difference is in how binders are treated. TFPP Premium includes the EPI (Estimated Premium Income) of binders while setting the Decs to 0, to avoid double counting the same premium. Normal Premium does not make this adjustment.

Exception — Consortium Decs

For Consortium Decs the premium is booked at the individual Dec level, rather than at the main Consortium binder.

I've spotted something that needs changing — who do I talk to?

The great thing about opening up data access is that there are more eyes on the data. If you spot something — like a broker mapping that needs updating, or anything that doesn't look quite right — please contact the Portfolio Analytics Team.

Can I request a feature?

Yes — we want the product to be as useful as possible. Send feature requests to the Portfolio Analytics Team. They're prioritised on the value they bring to the business and the effort to build them.
